| Biography Peter Pharoah was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1969. In 1986, he matriculated from Kearsney College, where he won numerous art awards including the illustrious Natal Schools Art Award and the internationally renowned Grahamstown Art Festival Award. Pharoah went on to study art and graphic design at Witwatersrand Technicon, where he won the Wilsenach Young Designer’s Award. On completion of his studies, he joined Young & Rubicam, an internationally recognized advertising agency, where he worked as an art director and illustrator. In 1994, Pharoah began working as a freelance illustrator in the advertising industry. And in 1998, he moved to Wilderness, South Africa, and dedicated himself to a career as a full time fine artist. Peter Pharoah's work has been collected by individuals in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Canada, Great Britain, Netherlands, United States and South Africa. His work also stands in public and corporate collections including the Anglo American Corporation in London.
