ABOUT ZUVA GALLERY

An award-winning destination for contemporary art, Zuva Gallery has one of the largest collections of contemporary stone sculpture from Africa in the United States. All works are originals that were sculpted with hand tools by emerging and internationally recognized artists. With sculpture ranging from 5 pounds to over 2.5 tons, pieces are ideally suited for indoor or outdoor residential placement, public art and corporate settings. Zuva Gallery also features original paintings that range from abstract to representational, limited edition photography, hand crafts and art accessories. Art consulting services are available.

Founded in 1996, Zuva Gallery is operated by a skilled team with decades of collective experience in Africa. Zuva Gallery's owners spend extended periods in Africa each year procuring art and working with our artists to prepare for exhibitions in America. We offer private studio visits in Africa where collectors learn firsthand about the forms and artists we feature. Zuva Gallery also facilitates commissioned works that may be sculpted by our featured artists in Africa or on site at collectors' home in America. This constant and dynamic interchange in both America and Africa offers our collectors unparalleled opportunities to meet and form lasting relationships with the artists we represent.

PRINCIPALS

Zuva Gallery Founders and Owners, Tom and Mary Kay Obert have been traveling frequently to Africa since 1988. Avid art collectors, the Oberts immediately fell in love with the art they saw on their first visit to the African continent. Several years later, driven by the desire to share the African art they loved with other parts of the world, they launched Zuva Gallery in Arizona. The Oberts and the Zuva Gallery team members continue to make annual visits to Africa, working directly with artists at their studios to procure the finest works of art that Africa has to offer.

Zuva Gallery Director and Owner, Lisa Paulick, holds a B.A. in Art History from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Lisa is highly knowledgeable in the field of contemporary African art and has traveled throughout Africa, sourcing new work, meeting with artists represented and selecting pieces for the Zuva Gallery collection. With more than fifteen years of art museum and gallery experience, she curates the special artist exhibitions that are held throughout the year.

Zuva Gallery at el Pedregal (www.elpedregal.com) is located at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Carefree Highway in North Scottsdale, nestled within the exclusive el Pedregal Shops at the world renowned Boulders Resort and Golden Door Spa complex. Meaning "place of many stones" in Spanish, el Pedregal's Moroccan-inspired architecture, stunning courtyard and Koi pond serve as the ultimate venue for Zuva Gallery's museum-quality contemporary African art collection. Stroll through the courtyard to view 20 large-scale outdoor sculptures on display amidst the lush desert landscaping.

Zuva Gallery is also a full service venue available to host your event. Whether your needs require a space for a company meeting, networking social or private affair, our staff has the experience, skills and customer driven philosophy to ensure your production is a success. Zuva Gallery offers an atmosphere which is both modern and comfortable. A contemporary setting, showcasing fine original paintings and sculpture, is a unique décor to enhance and inspire your event. Zuva Gallery offers 1,700 square feet of contemporary art gallery space with high ceilings and an open floor plan. Flexible hours allows for both daytime and evening events. Rental space will accommodate the addition of buffet stations or waiter-passed food and beverage, bar service, staging area, tables and chairs, and DJ or live music.
